Socrates Cafe is an affiliate of the Society of Philosophical Inquiry. New members are always welcome. We believe a diversity of opinion is important for a true exchange of ideas. The group meets the first Monday of each month. Register online at www.murrysvillelibrary.org or call the library at 724-327-1102. The topic of discussion for the Monday, April 4th meeting is “What are the political fault lines on America’s response to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine? How do traditional liberal and conservative ideologies compare, and what does that mean for the U.S. position and actions?” Analyzing standard conservative and liberal positions on the different aspects of the Russian invasion, such as isolationism, racism, religion, culture and morality, immigration, defense, economics, American exceptionalism, and politics, can provide key insights into how the issue will play out politically in America. Bill Novak will moderate.
