A new reading challenge will be starting on September 2. The Smokey Bear Reading Challenge. It is a nation-wide program to promote fire safety. It will run from September 2 through November 28. It is on Beanstack. Children have to read 3 books about fire safety, nature, the environment, etc. A display of book choices will be available.
They will get a Smokey bandana, a bracelet, and a sticker when they complete the challenge. For ages 4 – 11 years old. Register on Beanstack.
Smokey will also be visiting the library on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. with a forest ranger to discuss outdoor fire safety.
