Stream Free Movies

Streaming free videos with Overdrive

What you need:

  • A WLN library card.  Don’t have a card?  We’re now offering online registration!  Click here for more information.
  • A laptop, tablet, or smartphone
  • A WiFi connection (our streaming videos use a lot of data, so connecting to WiFi is recommended)

Viewing our movie collection:

  1. Open your Internet browser and go to our Overdrive collection website (ebooks.wlnonline.org)
  2. Click Collections.A submenu will open.
  3. Under Videos, click Available Now to see the movies you can stream instantly.  Click See All to view our full collection, including movies that are currently checked out.

Checking out a movie:

If a movie is available to check out and stream, the bar at the top of the thumbnail will say Available and you will see a Borrow link at the bottom of the thumbnail.

  1. Click Borrow.
  2. Sign in with your library card number.  Don’t have a card?  We’re now offering online registration!  Click here for more information.
  3. Select the number of days for which you’d like to borrow the movie (three, five, or seven day loans are available)
  4. Click Borrow.
  5. Click Watch Now in Browser.  Your movie will begin to play!

Placing a hold on a movie:

If a movie is currently checked out by another patron, you can place a hold on the movie and receive an email when it’s available.  If a movie is currently checked out, the bar at the top of the thumbnail will say Wait List and you will see a Place a Hold link at the bottom of the thumbnail.

  1. Click Place a Hold.
  2. Sign in with your library card number.  Don’t have a card?  We’re now offering online registration!  Click here for more information.
  3. You will receive an email when the movie is available to check out.

Returning a movie early:

Once you’re done watching a movie, you can return it early so another patron can enjoy it.

  1. Open your Internet browser and go to our Overdrive collection website (ebooks.wlnonline.org)
  2. Click Sign In (upper right corner of the screen).
  3. Sign in with your library card number.
  4. Click My Account.
  5. Click Loans.
  6. Click the Return button under the movie thumbnail.
  7. A pop up window will appear.  Click Return Title.
